Travelopia has decided to put a number of its brands – including Citalia and Sovereign – on sale following a strategic review of its portfolio.
Explaining its decision, the group said the brands would benefit from having new owners who have "more expertise or scale in the sectors or markets within which they operate”.
Travelopia said it is seeking new owners for Citalia, Sovereign, American Holidays, Experience Education, YMT Vacations and Sawadee.
MyPlanet was sold to Scandinavian tour operator Kilroy Group on 30 September, while the sale of Gullivers Sports Travel & Events International to Keith Prowse was confirmed on Wednesday (16 October).
These sales will leave Travelopia with Enchanting Travels, Europe Express, Exodus Group, Le Boat, Quark Expeditions, TCS World Travel, The Moorings & Sunsail, and Travelopia’s latest acquisition, Kalos Golf.
Travelopia chief executive Andy Duncan said: “We wish the teams at MyPlanet, Gullivers & Events International success in their new homes.
“With even more focus as a group going forwards, we have exciting plans for continued growth as the world’s leading experiential travel company, enriching lives through travel.”
Elsewhere within the group, Quark president Andrew White will be retiring at the end of this year after 12 years at the expedition cruise line.
Sam Seward, the current managing director of Exodus Group, will take up the vacant role of Quark president, while Sally Cowdry, Travelopia chief customer officer, will continue in her role and lead Exodus Group.
Travelopia added: "Sally has been instrumental in resetting capability and performance of Travelopia’s sales and marketing teams."
The newly created chief sales officer at Travelopia will report into Cowdry. This will be assumed by Paul Brousseau, in addition to his current role as chief customer officer at Quark.
Duncan added: “A big thank you to Andrew for his contributions to Quark over the last 12 years and congratulations to Sam, Sally and Paul for their new appointments.”
