Triangle Travel has acquired Didcot-based agency John Allan Travel.
Founder John Allan, who marked 50 years in travel this year, has run his agency from the same location in Didcot for almost three decades and now intends to retire.
The deal takes Triangle’s store network to five branches with locations in Mortimer, Newbury, Pangbourne and Wallingford.
John Allan staff members Penny Wesson and Jill Mangan will continue working in the agency and become part of Triangle’s team.
The Travel Network Group member’s Pangbourne store was named the South East’s Top Agency at the TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies 2018.
Rob Kenton, Triangle’s managing director, said: “John has built up a really strong business over the years and we are honoured that he has entrusted us to take on the stewardship of John Allan Travel. It has an excellent reputation, and we very much plan to keep it the same way.
“John and I share the same views on how to operate a successful travel business, which is centred around delivering exceptional customer service, and I am delighted that he is entrusting us to carry on with the business he lovingly built up over the years. We wish him and his wife a happy, well-earned retirement.”
