Tui has put an extra 345,000 ex-UK seats on sale for summer 2025, expanding its peak season programme to more than 10 million seats.
More than a quarter of the additional seats will be available from Exeter airport, where the airline and operator is basing an extra aircraft "to meet continued customer demand in the south-west".
Exeter will gain a new Tui route to Ibiza next summer, while its Tenerife and Lanzarote flights will operate year-round in future.
Tui will also start serving Antalya, Heraklion (Crete), Paphos and Rhodes twice a week from Exeter, opening up 10- and 11-night holiday options.
Another 15,000 extra seats have gone on sale at Bournemouth, where Tui operates exclusively to Kefalonia and Paphos. Its Rhodes, Heraklion, Corfu and Mahon services, meanwhile, operate twice a week allowing the operator to offer 10- and 11-night breaks.
A further 70,000 extra seats have been added at Birmingham, where Tui operates daily to Antalya, Dalaman, Palma and Paphos. Here, it is expanding its Rhodes service to six frequencies a week, and Bourgas (Bulgaria) to three times a week.
Tui currently operates from 19 UK airports. Its expansion plans come after easyJet holidays opened its first base for more than a decade at Birmingham airport last month, while Jet2.com and Jet2holidays last week named Bournemouth as its 12th – and potentially final – UK base.
There is expected to be record capacity in the market this summer (2024) with Tui licensed to fly nearly six million Atol-protected seats, pipped only by Jet2holidays which is licensed for 6.7 million.
EasyJet holidays, meanwhile, has an Atol for just shy of 2.3 million seats, making it the UK’s third-largest operator by Atol size and the fifth largest Atol holder overall.
Half of Tui additional 300,000 seats for summer 2025 will be to North Africa, including 100,000 to Egypt, 30,000 to Morocco and 15,000 to Tunisia. The other half is split 85,000 to Cyprus, 70,000 to Greece and 40,000 to Spain.
Tui has also put on sale for summer 2025 a new Marella Cruises programme operating out of Paphos.
Andrew Flintham, Tui UK and Ireland managing director, said: “Our customers want more flexibility in departing airports, destinations and holiday durations, and this programme for summer 2025 shows our continued commitment to making it easier for customers to book the holiday that’s right for them.
"The additions are across 19 regional airports from Glasgow to Bournemouth, with customers being able to fly on more Tui holidays from their local airport than ever before."
