Tui has launched a weekly charter services between Birmingham and Singapore to cater to customers sailing onboard Marella Discovery 2 over the next two winters.
It comes as Marella has homeported in Singapore for the first time, calling at several destinations such as Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.
“Our Asia itineraries mean that customers can be exploring tropical islands one day, and buzzing cities the next, and we’re excited to be offering all the region has to offer to those flying from Birmingham airport,” said Marella managing director Chris Hackney.
The flight, which first departed on Wednesday (13 December), will run until 3 April before resuming a few months later on 11 December 2024. The flight is also the only non-stop service to connect Birmingham to Singapore as other airlines serve the route with layovers in London and Manchester.
“TUI offers numerous sunshine destinations direct from Birmingham airport,” said Birmingham airport senior aviation manager Adam Parker.
“The addition of this direct long-haul service to Singapore to connect with Marella Cruises gives our customers even greater choice.”
