Tui has officially launched its Magic Life brand in Italy.
The resort, in the country’s Calabria region, is Tui’s 13th in Italy and has been open to guests since May.
Tui last year announced flights to Lamezia Terme airport last June, with weekly Saturday flights from Gatwick and Manchester.
It follows recent Magic Life openings in Tunisia and Turkey.
Tui’s all-inclusive club brand now totals 16 resorts across six countries.
The operator says club holidays “remain in vogue” among its customers.
“2019 is a banner year for Tui Group in terms of hotel openings,” said Sebastian Ebel, executive board member hotels and resorts, who explained the move further strengthened Tui’s position in a “high-margin segment” of the market.
Andreas Pospiech, Tui Magic Life managing director, added the operator was “well-positioned” and “ready for further growth” of its all-inclusive portfolio.
The resort has been upgraded and redesigned in the Magic Life style, and welcomed around 1,000 guests to a launch event.
Guests included mountain biking champions and professional volleyball trainers to demonstrate some of the activities available in the region. There was also an “interactive social media party” and entertainment from DJ Klingande.
By winter 2021/22, Tui plans to launch its Magic Life brand in Cape Verde, with a club on the island of Boa Vista.
