The team at a newly-refurbished Tui shop have been “super busy” over the past three weeks, as the store’s reopening has enticed hundreds of customers.
The shop reopened on 6 December inside East Kilbride’s Shopping Plaza – some 11 miles south of Glasgow.
Opening hours are between 9am and 5.30pm Monday to Wednesday, 9.30am and 7pm on Thursday, 9am and 5.30 on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
“The whole team has loved welcoming customers into our spacious and modern store which has a lovely and warm atmosphere,” said retail manager Lynsey Deacon.
“Customers are loving our new look and we have been super busy already since we opened just a couple of weeks ago.
“It’s been lovely hearing such positive feedback from our regulars who said it’s like stepping on holiday from the moment they walk in.”
According to Deacon, Benidorm, Tenerife and Turkey have emerged as the shop’s most sought-after destinations while bookings for the likes of Mexico, New York and Marella Cruises have also seen a rise.
“We pride ourselves on being able to offer expert travel advice and our team particularly has lots of knowledge on Europe, the Caribbean, city breaks and cruises, so we are definitely ready to help customers find their dream holiday,” she concluded.
It comes as Tui has actively expanded his high street presence over the past few years, opening several new shops all across the country.
Retail chief Stephen Bracegirdle told TTG in August that the giant’s aim isn’t to open "hundreds of shops” in the next couple of years, but to make the most of opportunities.
“There is still a significant loyal retail following of people who always book with the same advisor in the same shop year after year," he said.
