More than half of UK travel, hospitality, leisure and retail businesses "lack ethnic diversity" at board level, a new report has found.
The Maintaining Momentum report, by the diversity and inclusion community WiTHL and its sister organisation Diversity in Retail (DiR), found that although "progress has been made towards greater diversity", the "pace of change needs to accelerate" if the industries are ever to reach gender parity and ethnic representation.
The WiTHL and DiR will reveal the findings from the report at its Inclusion Summit in London on Tuesday (1 November).
Founder and chair of WiTHL and DiR, Tea Colaianni, said: "Our research clearly illustrates that while we are making progress, we still have work to do.
"Bringing together leaders across over 100 companies to facilitate this discussion and indeed maintain, if not increase, momentum of change in this area is exactly why we are holding this year’s summit."
