The US will end its pre-departure testing mandate at the weekend, it has been confirmed.
Travellers to the US currently have to provide evidence of having tested negative for Covid-19 up to 24 hours prior to departure.
The rule currently applies to all travellers, regardless of their vaccination status.
Citing a senior Biden administration official, several major US news outlets on Friday afternoon (10 June) reported the mandate will end at 12.01am on Sunday (12 June).
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will review the need for a testing requirement every 90 days, they added.
