Viking has cancelled all 2022 departures of its Russian river cruise itineraries and ceased all operations in the country for the remainder of the year.
The line confirmed the steps to TTG on Wednesday (2 March) and said it was "deeply opposed" to the unfolding conflict in Ukraine and "heartbroken" for all the people who are impacted.
Viking will also replace scheduled stops in Russia for all 2022 ocean itineraries and guests and their travel agents on impacted departures are in the process of being notified.
On 24 February, Viking cancelled all 2022 departures of its Ukraine river itinerary.
A company spokesperson said the line was "continuing to evaluate" its 2023 itineraries.
"As a company that has been helping people explore the world for 25 years, we strongly believe in the power of travel to build connections between cultures," they added.
"We remain hopeful for a quick resolution to the current conflict. Our team is actively monitoring the situation and will keep our guests up to date as necessary."
