Virgin Atlantic’s first flight to Pakistan took off from Manchester on Thursday (10 December), bound for Islamabad.
The four-times-weekly service will fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
From Heathrow, meanwhile, Virgin launched Islamabad flights on Saturday (12 December) and Lahore on Sunday (13 December).
Its Islamabad route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and its Lahore route on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Virgin will deploy Boeing 787 aircraft on the routes, offering the carrier’s upper, premium and three-tier economy cabins.
Of the Manchester route, Virgin said: "With a significant proportion of Pakistani diaspora living in the region, the new services will provide vital connectivity for friends and relatives visiting family and loved ones, in addition to serving growing demand for business and leisure travel."
