The number of British passengers booking Virgin Voyages’ winter Caribbean cruises has increased by almost a third over past year, the line has revealed.
Currently, the line’s Caribbean bookings from the UK market are 31% up year-on-year. This follows growth of 10.6% in 2022 and 4.9% in 2021.
Shane Riley, Virgin Voyages international sales vice-president, also revealed around 40% of passengers on the line’s repositioning cruises were Brits.
“In the last year alone, our repeat sailor [passenger] rates have tripled and we know that these loyal travellers want more, so we’ve listened,” he said. “We recently announced more than two dozen new itineraries including winter sailings and repositioning voyages.”
This winter, the line will operate Eastern Caribbean Antilles and Western Caribbean Charm itineraries and a 14-night Transatlantic Miami to Med sailing.
To mark Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Virgin Voyages is offering customers a 30% discount off sailings before 30 November, plus a $600 Bar Tab for seven nights or more sailings, $300 Bar for four to six nights or $125 for a three-night sailing.
The news comes after Virgin Voyages announced a $550 million cash injection from private equity backers in September as former chief executive Tom McAlpin transitioned to a new role as chair.
