Windstar Cruises has postponed its 2023/24 Middle East programme on 312-passenger Star Legend and replaced it with a European season this winter.
The new programme – includes calls to Barcelona, Nice, Livorno, Marseille and Civitavecchia – during seven-day sailings. The departures run from December 2023 to April 2024.
It is understood that Windstar has pushed back its Middle East programme due to the uncertainty with the current situation in the region.
Confirming the move, Windstar Cruises president Christopher Prelog said the line’s Middle East programme launch had been postponed until November 2024.
“The ship was originally scheduled to sail in the Middle East. We’ve postponed our launch in that region,” he said.
“We saw an opportunity to offer guests a legendary winter season in Europe. Our small ships and intimate atmosphere provide a truly unique way to explore Europe’s winter wonderlands, while enjoying the magic of the season and the comforts and casual luxury that Windstar is known for."
The last Mediterranean sailing is an eight-night cruise from Civitavecchia to Athens, visiting the Amalfi coast and Greek ports.
The programme will go on sale on 6 November.
