Wizz Air has announced a new Birmingham to Cluj route, launching later this year.
The low-cost carrier will operate the route to Cluj International Airport from December 16.
Fares lead in from £17.99 and are available to book now.
The route links the UK’s second city with Romania’s second city, famed for its nightlife, tech economy and access to the Carpathian mountains.
Wizz says the announcement strengthens its claim to being the leading low-cost airline serving eastern Europe with six routes to Poland, Hungary and Romania.
It brings Wizz’s new 2018 routes to 14.
Owain Jones, Wizz’s chief corporate officer, said: “Wizz Air continues to expand and invest in our UK operations, growing our network across the country.
“Cluj is an exciting new destination for our customers in the Midlands – the historic Transylvanian university city of culture and nightlife with a booming economy and easy access to the natural wonder of the Carpathian mountains is an ideal choice for a city break with a difference.”
Flights will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Lead-in fares are one way, including taxes, charges and cabin bag.
