The team at cruise specialist agency World Travel Holdings UK will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks later this month to raise money for a local hospice and the World Wildlife Fund.
A group of 12 staff at the company, which runs the Cruise118, Six Star Cruises and Rivervoyages.com brands, are aiming to raise £1,000 for their chosen charities during the 24-mile challenge, which includes a 1,585m ascent as the take on Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales.
Managing director Alison Earnshaw, who will be taking part, said: “We have supported Derian House Children’s Hospice for many years, as a local partner charity whose cause has close links to our employees’ friends and family and this year, we have introduced another partner charity, WWF, nominated by our employees.
“Our fundraising efforts are a great way for us to give back to our local community and by partnering with a national charity as well, our employees who work remotely are able to engage in our fundraising activities, bringing everyone closer together.”
Last year the WTH team raised more than £5,000 for Derian House after its team ran, walked, swam and cycled a combined 2,022 miles.
