Youtravel has again extended booking cancellations following the insolvency of German parent company FTI Touristik Group.
The trade bed bank will cancel all bookings from 5 July but told agents it would not remove them from systems until 13 June, “allowing you time to re-protect the booking”.
It added: “Any bookings that are still active in the Youtravel system for arrivals up to and
including July 5th will be automatically cancelled with no cancellation charges by
Thursday, June 13th.
“Please be aware that bookings from July 6th onwards will remain active at this time
and will be subject to the cancellation charges as displayed.
“We have made the decision to extend the cancellation window beyond a week to
give our partners extended time to rebook and in order to prevent further
inconvenience.”
Youtravel first cancelled bookings for a week from 4 June, which it then extended until 14 June. It has a trade team working on cancellations, contactable on escalations@youtravel.com or 0208 588 9914.
FTI, Europe’s third-largest tourism group, has also cancelled departures up to and including 5 July while an insolvency team seeks a rescue package. It said: “Whether trips starting from 6 July 2024 can take place is currently being checked.”
