“With 2023 shaping up to be a very successful year and all indications pointing to a record breaking 2024, we could not be more excited to announce the opening of reservations for our 2025 itineraries,’’ said Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and president of AmaWaterways. “To meet the growing demand for river cruising, we will have additional ships in Colombia and Portugal, which brings our award-winning fleet to 29 river cruise ships welcoming between 28 and 196 guests each. We are also introducing a new seven-night Imperial Danube itinerary on the Danube and bringing back our 14-night Magnificent Europe itinerary taking guests from Amsterdam to Budapest, which will appeal to new and returning guests that want to spend a little extra time exploring the fascinating art, music, history and culinary delights across this region.”

AmaWaterways will make history in November 2024 as the first major river cruise line to take guests along the Magdalena River in Colombia, with the launch of the luxurious 60-passenger AmaMagdalena. In June 2025, AmaMelodia will join her sistership offering 32 twin-balcony staterooms. Guests will enjoy two mesmerising seven-night itineraries, Wonders of Colombia and Magic of Colombia, sailing between Cartagena and Barranquilla with pre- and post-cruise optional land packages in Medellin, Colombia and Panama City.

Providing travellers with even more opportunities to discover Portugal, AmaSintra will join its golden sistership, AmaDouro, and the stunning AmaVida for memorable journeys along the Douro River. AmaSintra will offer a choice of two seven-night itineraries – the Enticing Douro, a roundtrip journey from Porto and the Flavours of Portugal & Spain, between Porto to Vega de Terron, Spain.

The programme also includes two new itineraries. The new seven night Imperial Danube trip sailing roundtrip from Budapest, Hungary, on the iconic Danube River and the 14-night Magnificent Europe Cruising between Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Budapest.
