Holland America Line unveils ‘Celestial Cruises’ for 2026

The six sailings, ranging from 13 to 35 days, have been designed to enable guests to witness extraordinary celestial events, such as a solar eclipse, the Northern Lights and summer solstice in the Arctic.

Included in the programme are departures from Dover on Nieuw Statendam. Bookings open on July 31.

 
Three solar eclipse cruises are on offer, comprising:
* 35-day ‘Voyage of the Vikings: Solar Eclipse (Legendary Voyage)’, aboard the 1964-guest Zuiderdam, roundtrip from Boston, Massachusetts, departing July 18, 2026. This will sail into the path of totality for the solar eclipse off the western coast of Iceland. Prices including the ’Have it All’ package start from £8,474pp.

 
* 28-day ‘Scandinavian Solar Eclipse with Greenland and Scotland (Legendary Voyage)’, aboard the 2666-guest Nieuw Statendam, roundtrip from Dover, or roundtrip from Rotterdam, departing July 25, 2026. This will sail into the path of totality for the solar eclipse off the northwest coast of Iceland.Prices including the ’Have it All’ package start from £6,239pp.

* 13-day ‘Mediterranean Solar Eclipse with Barcelona Overnight’ cruise, aboard the 1964-guest Oosterdam, departing Lisbon on August 9, 2026. This will take in a solar eclipse at sea in the path of totality off the coast of Spain between Alicante and Barcelona. Prices including the ’Have it All’ package start from £2,814pp.
