Classic Collection is to open a homeworker hub at its Manchester head office for the duration of peaks.
The operator was inspired to open the venue following independent agent Craig Goodridge-Hurley, of Craig Goodridge Travel in Sheffield, whom this week offered a spare desk in his shop for agents who work from home.
Jorge Quibell, head of sales strategic partnerships, said: "We saw that an independent agent had reached out to agent homeworkers in his area and thought why shouldn’t a trade-focussed operator like Classic Collection do the same thing.
"Although peaks is a busy time, January often feels like a long month and can be isolating, pressurised, not to mention cold, if you’re working from home.
"Our homeworker hub will be at our Aeroworks head office in Manchester. We’re setting up desk space close to the Classic Collection team and will also be paying the tab for our homeworker hub agents at our on-site coffee shop."
The operator sees the homeworker hub as a chance for homeworking agents to meet Classic staff face to face, build relationships, have informal training on how to find the best peaks deals for customers on Classic’s agent-only booking portal, and catch up on all things travel during peaks.
Quibell added: "If agents would like to socialise later with Classic colleagues after work, with something a little stronger than coffee, our on-site bar stays open until 6pm."
The homeworker hub will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout peaks. Pre-booking is required via Classic Collection’s agent facebook page.
