Newmarket Holidays is marking its 40th anniversary with the operator’s first TV advert since 2019.
The escorted tours specialist, which ran its first group tour to Paris in 1983, returns to prime-time TV on Monday afternoon (3 July), with a 30-second film celebrating its array of wish-list tours across Europe and the world.
Running on ITV throughout July and produced by the operator’s in-house team, the inspirational film cuts between wide-angles, pans and drone shots to show active over-60s being escorted around some of the world’s most famous sites, including the ruins of Pompeii in Italy, the Grand Canyon in the USA, Plaza de España in Spain, Petra in Jordan and Dubrovnik in Croatia.
A voiceover encourages viewers to create stories to last a lifetime, and to try ’new experiences, new friends, new memories, Newmarket Holidays’. It ends with an instruction to ’search for Newmarket Holidays or see your trusted local travel agent’.
Kate Liberty, head of marketing & brand at Newmarket Holidays, says: “It’s been a few years since we invested in a TV campaign and we felt like this was the right time to return after a rebrand earlier this year and with our 40-year anniversary to celebrate.
"We’re aiming to attract and engage a new audience across the UK by showcasing a snapshot of our incredible product range, giving viewers an insight into what they can see and experience when travelling on one of our award-winning escorted tours.”
David Sharman, chief commercial officer, added: “Our return to TV advertising brings the audience up to date with our broad portfolio, featuring agent favourites from an African safari to Italy, to Borneo and beyond. It also coincides with the launch of our new Trade 2023-25 brochure, so we are confident that this high-profile activity can drive new bookings and opportunities for agents.”
The advert airs for the first time on ITV on the afternoon on Monday (3 July), with launch times varying across the county. For a sneak preview, you can watch the ad below:
