Not Just Travel teams raise tens of thousands for charity

At the beginning of July, headline sponsor Not Just Travel entered eight teams of consultants into the three-day, 1500-mile Travel Trade Crusade car rally across Europe. A total of 18 teams drove their way across six European countries including Germany, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands in just three days.

Participants from across the travel industry dressed up in costumes for the event which saw the likes of Willy Wonka, Scooby Doo, bumblebees, and mermaids.

The teams were also challenged with tasks en route such as building sandcastles, getting their team over 1300 m high and getting as many people as they could into a photo. This saw teams paragliding, taking a helicopter ride and blagging a flight with a skydiving team. 

Not Just Travel consultant Cath Bracegirdle said: “We camped on one of the nights. We pitched our tent beside Lake Thun in Switzerland. Sitting beside the shore in the sun, looking at the snow-capped mountains was just magical.

“It’s been an exhilarating, hilarious weekend and I’m so proud having raised much needed money for our charities.”

One of the event organisers Sarah Archer of Beachcomber Tours said: “Once again, this has been an incredibly inspirational, fun and exhausting event. Our teams did us proud and together we have raised not far off quarter of a million pounds  since the event’s inception.” 

Co-founder Paul Harrison also commented: “We’re honoured to have sponsored this year’s Travel Trade Crusade. Our consultants truly threw themselves into this event to raise money for charity. The spirit of this event is right up our street.”
