At the start of every year, Meon’s staff attend an inhouse conference which sets out the company’s business plan and goals for the next 12 months. This year’s plan is built around the theme of “professional excellence”.

Priorities for Meon in 2016 include the introduction of a new system to monitor turnaround times on all bookings to ensure they are meeting service level agreements with their clients.

Meon is also a member of the Advantage Focus Partnership and has played a role in developing a fare finder tool that compares all airline prices available across the market.

The TMC has a “price promise guarantee” where it will match any airline ticket price from the internet, as well as operating a scheme to help its clients to make better use of loyalty points to save money on flights.

Another development is the introduction of an online chat box with a consultant, which comes up automatically when clicking on to its website.

Motivating staff is a key factor for Meon and every year it runs a “Millionaire Incentive” where agents who turn over £1 million in bookings during a 10-month period are rewarded with a place on a trip to New York.
