Despite celebrating its 25th year of trading with an Abta licence in 2017, the team at Peakes constantly strives to move with the times.

New signage above the store front in a fresh turquoise is part of the team’s aim to appeal to a wider and younger demographic, while a recently introduced welcome desk means all clients are greeted promptly and taken to the most appropriate member of staff.

The little details really are key at Peakes, with a new back office system freeing up more time for its dedicated concierge department to add special touches to customers’ holidays and ensure everything runs like clockwork.

And should disaster strike, the team is always on hand to help customers out of unexpected situations, such as the collapse of Monarch Airlines, when they fronted the cost of a new holiday for three of their customers.

Despite a combined total of 202 years’ experience in the travel industry, the award-winning team is constantly looking to further its knowledge. Each consultant heads off on an educational trip at least once a year and they all make time for regular updates on travel products.

The ethos at Peakes is not on the individual sale but the relationship with the customer, the community, being local and loving their high street.

Last year saw the agency host a Carols and Canapes Christmas event for customers; take part in a series of local festivals including KidsFest; and raise money for local charity The Harry Johnson Trust.
