The team will always try to finesse the bookings as much as possible – whether that’s arranging a picnic in the Atlas mountains or organising private boat trips in Phuket. Meanwhile, to go the extra mile, when one customer sent a photo of her family having a great time in the Maldives to a member of the team, the image was made into a fridge magnet, which was waiting for the family when they got home. In fact, customers who are away for more than 17 nights may find something inside the fridge too, as a food hamper is gifted upon clients’ return from these longer trips.

There are now 15 people in the business, which is the reigning Top Luxury Agency in the TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies, but Beaver Travel is not one to rest on its laurels. Held every two years, Beaver’s Luxury Travel Show now has a new format. In 2018, it started offering a range of expert talks with 500 people passing through the doors. At other points of the year, there are themed dinners targeted at customers with specific interests, for example, travel to India.

And the industry clearly loves this team too, with leading luxury travel brands and hoteliers often coming to take the team out for dinner and drinks. Staff also get to take incredible educational trips, but only if they know they will be able to convert them to business, such as Andrew’s own Botswana trip, a country he has since made at least six bookings to.

What’s more, Beaver has had one of the best years in its history, due to a combination of winning the Top 50 award in 2018 and the successful new format of its travel show.
