The Spanish Tourist Office UK has put accessibility at the heart of its newest campaign, ‘Spain for All’.
Launched late on Wednesday (6 December), the campaign aims to build a roadmap to improve inclusivity from a social and accessibility standpoint and eventually attract more tourists to the country.
As part of the ‘Spain for All’ campaign, the tourist office will create an advisory panel to get feedback on key challenges and opportunities in the accessibility and social spaces.
This will be followed by a consumer survey as well as panel discussions and a content campaign.
“Our aim is to create geographic and economic sustainability with a socially inclusive tourism model that spreads the benefits around the country, 365 days of the year,” said Spanish Tourist Office UK director Manuel Butler.
Overall, Spain has put accessibility at the centre of its policy for more than 40 years, with cities such as Burgos and Bilbao setting the benchmark for inclusive infrastructure as well as public transport becoming more accessible in places such as Madrid and Barcelona.
Tourists can also obtain support through the ‘Spain is Accessible’ website, which allows users to choose their attractions and destinations based on their individual needs.
