Born from a leisure travel agency in the market town of Petersfield, Meon Valley Travel’s corporate travel and specialist repatriation divisions strive to offer the same personal service on which the brand was built.
That’s not to say this travel management company (TMC) isn’t technology-focused – a smart new self-booking tool launched this year has seen online bookings grow to account for 80% of all bookings, up from 65%. But by making it easier for clients to self-book simple trips, consultants have now been freed up to deliver an even higher level of service to those that want it, resulting in outstanding customer satisfaction scores all round.
The simplicity of the self-booking tool has also made it possible for new members of the team to start taking bookings within months instead of years, enabling the agency to scale up more quickly than others in the sector.
The agency won an impressive 28 new accounts in 2022, thanks in no small part to a new digital marketing team which has used lead-generating software to create a significant pipeline, and also overhauled the agency’s newsletter and social media content.
After a phenomenal performance last year, Meon Valley Travel now has a bold ambition to double in size every three years, with directors James and Karen Beagrie appointing a dedicated training manager for the first time to ensure the family-run business’s culture and values are retained.
Like many TMCs, Meon Valley Travel helps its clients understand the carbon emissions of their travel, but the agency has also made a significant commitment to minimising its own environmental impact by measuring the carbon footprint of the business and setting a goal of being Net Zero by 2027.
Giving back is also in the agency’s DNA, with support given to a range of charities, from supporting an athlete’s charitable North Pole marathon efforts to sponsoring a giraffe in Kenya.
