Last year marked both Holidaysplease’s 20th anniversary and a record-breaking year for the company.
The online agency specialises in long-haul breaks, with 35 staff based at its headquarters and more than 100 homeworker agents. The team prides itself on customer service, with all clients given direct access to their agent 24/7 either by phone, WhatsApp or Facebook.
Meanwhile, the company’s new telephone appointment service means clients can arrange a time to speak with an agent at their convenience.
The agency boasts its own in-house tour operator, which sees the Holidaysplease team contacting suppliers to check every element of a holiday two weeks before a client’s departure, ensuring trips run smoothly.
Nothing is too much trouble for the team’s agents – from helping with compensation forms to arranging visas. One agent, Toni, even paid for a rechargeable fan which she sent to a customer as a gift after the client feared she would be too hot on her break in New York. It’s no wonder 97% of the agency’s 5,300 Trustpilot reviews give it a five-star rating.
The team are also dedicated to staying on top of the latest product knowledge. Last year, Holidaysplease launched an online hub featuring more than 200 modules, from destination updates to cruise knowledge to LGBTQ+ information.
Elsewhere sustainability and “giving back” remain key to the business. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the team launched “20 days of giving”, with clients, colleagues and charities given surprise gifts on different days.
Plus the company’s new internal training hub highlights sustainable tour operators, encouraging agents to prioritise these over others. An audit of the agency’s website has also been carried out, removing all activities which commoditised animals in tourism.
Holidaysplease has also partnered with not-for-profit tourism organisation Uthando to ensure the company’s newly launched Africa product focuses on local produce and guides, and ethical treatment of animals.
