Honeymoon Dreams has certainly been busy since claiming a place in the Weddings and Honeymoons category at the TTG Top 50 Agencies last year. New brand Beach Weddings launched last August, specialising in long-haul nuptials and arranging 30 weddings so far. The brand has had particular success in the Asian weddings sector and is currently planning one for 150 guests that includes several themed pre-wedding parties and involves the team calling each guest individually to arrange travel.
Online operation Honeymoon Dreams has seen similar levels of success, with revenue up by 14% year-on-year in 2019.
The agency celebrated its 10th anniversary last year and used the milestone to reconnect with clients, with 10 of them receiving randomly allocated thank you gifts ranging from gig tickets to digital cameras. Owner Lakh Hayer also thanked his hard-working team with an all-expenses paid weekend away to Dublin, while staff and clients joined forces for a 10k run, raising £4,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the process.
Marketing has been a big focus in the past year, with the team attending the Asiana Bridal Show for the first time, investing in magazine advertising and conducting a direct mail campaign that reached more than 35,000 people.
Clients remain impressed by the swish Honeymoon Suite at its Birmingham premises, which was created last year, and is used to showcase videos of hotels and destinations over a glass of bubbles.
Online tool the Honeymoon Planner, which was rolled out last summer, offers clients their own bespoke website featuring images, videos, a live chat function and the option to build their own bespoke gift list. Other functions include the ability for clients to read staff reviews, click through to see room types, find out about the weather in-destination, and pay their balance.
Clients are clearly impressed, with the agency receiving 4.9/5 on Trustpilot and regular thank you gifts.
“We treat all customers the same, whether it’s a £2,000 booking or £10,000,” explains head of operations Caralyn King, who recently got married in South Africa herself, and has a 100% conversion rate for enquiries to the destination.
