This agency might be a relatively new kid on the block, only opening its doors in 2019, but Sunlounger Travel in King’s Lynn packs an impressive punch. In the last year the team have received more than 370 reviews and an overall rating of five stars, with several customers already booking their fourth or fifth holiday in just two years.
Free airport lounge passes are offered to all honeymooning couples, while the team have countless stories of how they’ve gone above and beyond to help customers when problems occurred during their trips. Branch manager Courtney Bunton even stepped in last minute to personally transport a client to her coach drop-off after a taxi failed to turn up.
The team are eager to keep on top of their training, arranging personal meet-ups with suppliers when they identify gaps in their knowledge. And staff are equally as passionate about championing the next generation of talent.
The store has developed a partnership with a local college, donating unused brochures and taking on regular work experience placements. Three of the five-strong team started out as apprentices, including manager Courtney who has now developed a four-week new-starter programme to ensure all future apprentices are fully supported.
Staff are as tight-knit outside work as they are in-store, even taking a trip to Amsterdam as a team-bonding exercise while also boosting their knowledge of the destination. Courtney has also undergone mental health training to support colleagues.
And while the store might be a relative newcomer to the city, it’s still made its mark on the local community, collecting for a local foodbank at Christmas, serving as a drop-off point for donations to a Ukrainian refugee charity, and running a dedicated children’s drawing competition in the summer holidays – donating a trip to Legoland as the first prize.
