This impressive store only celebrated its fifth birthday last year, but the 11-strong team have already become a firm favourite on the high street in Cleethorpes.
Staff are always looking at ways to better serve customers, even creating a dedicated role to look after flight changes and cancellations following last summer’s airport chaos.
Branded tote bags are handed out to clients, with dedicated Mr and Mrs bags presented to honeymooning customers – while new Mrs and Mrs and Mr and Mr equivalents were introduced last year, helping to attract clients from the LGBT community.
Meanwhile, when one customer was left stranded in Italy after they were prevented from boarding a cruise due to their child’s vaccination status, the Holidays By Design team stepped in to arrange flights and accommodation, footing the bill themselves and even reimbursing the client for the cost of their taxis. It’s little wonder then that the shop has a following of 23,000 on Facebook and boasts a five-star rating.
The team are just as dedicated to looking after one another as they are their clients. Marketing assistant Eleanor has been named the store’s “wellbeing ambassador”, organising team walks along the seafront and nights out. The shop also offers three annual work placements to students as part of a partnership with the local college in addition to its apprenticeship programme.
The team are equally passionate about supporting the local community. From sponsoring a beach refuse collection for beachgoers to dispose of their plastic bottles to organising a Ukraine appeal collecting donations for refugees, the Holidays By Design team are always thinking of ways to give back.
The store even donated a Christmas tree to the local hospital, collected shoeboxes packed with goods for the elderly and less fortunate children at Christmas and has donated more than £2,000 in vouchers for local charity raffles.
