Led by manager Katrina Pike, the close-knit group value their customers highly and curate dream holidays with the motto “we don’t say no”.
This was proven when a solo client contracted Covid during a four-week winter holiday in Hawaii last year.
She contacted Katrina at 2am, who duly arranged help from a local hospital and called her insurance on her behalf, acting as the middle person. On her return, Katrina also helped the customer to fill out the forms necessary to claim a substantial refund.
In another example of dedication, Katrina assisted with locating a client who had gone missing in Tunisia to ensure he was able to come home safely.
Such is the team’s reputation that last year they won Best Customer Service of all the retail stores in Bexleyheath, and are nominated once again for the same award this year. In recent feedback sent directly to Hays Travel chair, Dame Irene Hays, one customer with mobility needs commended consultant Sophia Scott for her “professional approach, patience and friendly service”.
To ensure their knowledge is tip-top, the group regularly attend networking events in London and take it in turns to go on educational trips abroad.
Community is also a key pillar, with Katrina recently being appointed AGM director of the shopping centre, meaning she can collaborate more effectively with other retailers to boost community projects. The team collected two roll cages full of donations of clothes, baby food and sanitary items within 48 hours at the peak of the Turkey and Syria crisis earlier this year.
