Located just off Letterkenny high street, Atlantic Travel stands out from its neighbours thanks to a new lightbox window display, showcasing the latest travel offers and matching the agency’s modern interior. This is just one of many developments manager Emma McHugh has facilitated in the past 12 months to help the business maintain its consistent annual growth and high customer satisfaction rate.

The most recent of these developments is a brand-new website featuring a live currency conversion button allowing clients to see prices in both euros and pounds sterling, a useful function given the agency is just 12 miles from the Northern Irish border.

Atlantic Travel also ramped up its use of Instagram in 2019. With followers now at more than 800 and travel consultant Christina having completed an Instagram for business training course, Emma is starting to see an engaged and loyal customer base develop on the social media platform. Meanwhile, Facebook continues to be a valuable channel for staying connected with customers – the team has recently launched a second cruise-focused page, named Just Cruise. Cruise is a big focus for Atlantic Travel; in October the team hosted a cruise show that secured more than €75,000 in sales.

But it’s not just clever marketing and savvy management that’s taken Atlantic Travel’s repeat business to 80%; it’s the team’s effort to put the customer at the heart of everything they do. One recent example of this is a group booking from a youth football team who had been invited to the US for a tournament. Senior travel consultant Mary set up a pop-up shop in the club grounds to help out with insurance, visas and payment plans, then accompanied the 70 travellers on the trip to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Atlantic Travel’s commitment to the local community doesn’t stop there either – the agency has donated holiday vouchers worth hundreds of euros to local schools and charities, cementing its vital role within the Letterkenny community.
