The Tailor Made Travel brand was founded in 1995 and to date has 18 premises, yet this particular branch is a high-performer despite setting up only three years ago.
Outside, there is an A-board while the window features numerous neatly displayed deals that often attract plenty of passers-by. Step inside and you’ll be warmly invited to sit with a tea or coffee – children can even entertain themselves at a kids’ table with colouring books and pens, enabling mum and dad to plan their holiday hassle-free.
Customer service is tailored and highly attentive; in the past year, one consultant arranged a complimentary seat upgrade for a newly widowed man, while another staff member obtained hotel balcony measurements so a disabled woman could have a sun bed there. The dedicated team won’t hesitate to help a client in need, even going as far as working out of hours to lend support. In another example, a consultant quickly arranged a rescue taxi for clients who broke down en route to the airport, while welcome home phone calls and delivering tickets by hand are standard.
Elaine is keen for the team to give back too. Each year it sponsors Jack’s Appeal with CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), an initiative that funds free cardiac screenings for young people in the area, and it supports Dreams & Wishes, a Newport charity for seriously ill children and their families. Bright green collection boxes are also dotted around the office too for Finn’s Foundation, an organisation that provides cash grants to children with newly diagnosed terminal cancer.
