HX has confirmed Alex Delamere-White as its chief commercial officer following six months of acting in an interim capacity.
It comes as part of the group’s wider rebrand, which saw Hurtigruten Expeditions become HX and Hurtigruten Norway become Hurtigruten, with new logos and visual identities differentiating the two sister brands.
A veteran with a 12-year career in the cruise sector, Delamere-White returned to the industry in July 2023 when he was appointed Hurtigruten Expeditions’ interim chief commercial officer following Steve Taylor’s departure.
In his role, Delamere-White will continue focusing on the long term and making investments with the travel trade, as well as strengthening the expedition travel provider’s commercial performance and resources.
“Over the last six months he has led with expertise, experience and the passion necessary for us to reach our growth potential and serve our trade partners and guests to a level that is best in class,” said chief executive Daniel Skjeldam on Thursday (11 January).
“As HX embarks on the next phase of its journey under our new name and brand, I look forward to seeing Alex and the team continuing to expand our position as world leaders in sustainable exploration travel,” Skjeldam added.
The company has also announced new roles for Jim Sayer and Nathaniel Sherborne.
Sayer – who joined in 2022 as senior vice-president brand, creative and content – has been appointed as senior vice-president global marketing.
Meanwhile Sherborne – who joined HX in June 2023 after a 14-year stint at P&O Cruises – has become managing director and vice-president Europe and global sales enablement, coordinating HX’s B2B activities worldwide.
