Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has put its first winter sun programme on sale from Luton airport – less than a week after naming it as its newest base.
The airline and operator, which will launch flights and holidays from Luton on 1 April 2025, has put 140,000 seats across eight destinations on sale for the 2025/26 winter season.
The programme majors on the Canaries, featuring Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, and also features Alicante, Antalya, Faro and Madeira.
Luton will become Jet2’s 13th base in the UK and Ireland. Chief executive Steve Heapy said the response from customers and agents to the announcement had been "phenomenal".
“By launching our winter sun programme for 2025/26 nice and early, we are giving holidaymakers the chance to book ahead and lock in their getaway, while spreading the cost,” said Heapy.
“With so many holidaymakers wanting to swap the cold and rain of the UK in winter for some sunshine, we are expecting this new programme to sell quickly and be extremely popular.”
Twice-weekly services to Alicante, meanwhile, will operate on Thursdays and Sundays throughout November 2025, increasing to three-times-weekly (Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays) from 12 February 2026.
Weekly Antalya will operate year-round on Saturdays, with additional services on Wednesdays from mid-February to mid-March 2026.
Elsewhere, twice-weekly services to Faro will depart on Mondays and Fridays until 3 November 2025 before restarting on 13 February 2026, while Madeira will be served weekly year-round on Mondays.
Alberto Martin, Luton airport chief executive, added: "The phenomenal response we have seen to Jet2’s exciting line up of summer destinations illustrates the huge passenger demand for their flights and holidays at the airport.
"The announcement of this winter sun programme will be fantastic news for holidaymakers."
Jet2holidays packages include return flights, accommodation, a 22kg baggage allowance, transfers and free child places.
Speaking to TTG following the Luton reveal, Heapy said he didn’t anticipate Jet2 opening any more bases in the UK while its new Liverpool, Bournemouth and Luton bases bed in.
