Healing power. Whether a client’s wellbeing goal is to reduce stress, invigorate the mind or move the body, there’s always a sailing to suit.
How is everyone now we’ve reached the tail end of Peaks? Exhausted? Energised? After what has turned out to be a record-breaking booking season, I suspect many of you are feeling in need of a break; a familiar feeling with – let’s face it – anyone human. Holidays are often integral to building or maintaining both physical and mental health.
But prioritising wellbeing comes in many different shapes and sizes, from letting out frustrations during physical exercise and focusing the mind on a passion project to releasing tension in the spa. There are myriad ways to get wellness in shipshape at sea and along the world’s winding rivers.
Did you know you can “chill” out in a Nordic snow grotto and benefit from Tibetan bowl sound healing in onboard spas (p10), go cold water swimming or meditate on a glacier, or take painting or drawing classes with a professional artist on deck? The Family Holiday Association says these are the sorts of holiday activities that can spark new, healthy habits, and encourage ongoing positivity (p4). And because no one knows better where these opportunities lie than the cruise lines themselves, we’ve asked them to recommend top activities to boost the wellbeing of different types of travellers (p17).
You as agents are going to be so focused on ensuring clients have a stress-free sailing (we asked two expert sellers how they do this for p14), it’s easy to forget to look after yourselves and your team members. Champion Health is a platform giving leaders the tools, resources and data they need to support the wellbeing of their staff, so check out chief executive Harry’s top tips for doing just that on p15 – and if you’re not a manager, you may consider leaving this supplement on their desk…
