A warm welcome. WTM London 2023 opens to exhibitors and guests from across the globe.
Halloween pumpkins leaving the shops and Christmas wreaths arriving can only mean one thing: it’s time for WTM London! I’m so excited to see the travel industry return to ExCeL this year and experience the changes exhibition director Juliette Losardo has put in place in her second year at the helm (see p22-23).
I’m particularly looking forward to using the new conference programme Tracks to plan which sessions to attend, with the Diversity and Inclusion Track today highlighting how to empower women and support hidden disabilities in travel (p14-15). The latter is a topic very close to my heart, and so I’m thrilled it’s coming to the fore.
This year we’ve shaken up the format of our WTM London Official Event Dailies magazines, so instead of finding regional focuses across the three days, you’ll see a global spread within these pages every day of the show.
As ever, or at least for the last decade, the TTG Media team will be visiting stands today to talk to those in the know and bring you the latest news from around the world in tomorrow’s pages.
We’re seeing success stories across the board as destinations, airlines, accommodation providers and other travel companies soar back towards – and sometimes beyond – their pre-pandemic figures, as WTM London will reveal today in its Global Travel Report (p16-17). And with so many business-building meetings scheduled for the next few days, I’m certain big things are coming for travel in the next 12 months.
