The new trade portal, MyTrainTravel, is a game-changer for booking European rail travel
A brand-new booking tool, launched on 3 January, provides the trade with access to all SNCF products and services so agents can even more easily secure clients’ train travel around France and beyond. Found at mytraintravel.com, the portal is designed to simplify the sales process for leisure customers and better meet the needs of the business travel sector.
The SNCF collective features brands including SNCF, Eurostar, Thalys, Lyria and various arms of TGV, so customers can voyage within France as well as in destinations including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Italy.
The new portal introduces a number of fresh, long-awaited functionalities for the rail company. These include registration, the ability to apply promotional codes and the option to create and manage a traveller profile. Seat maps for First Class, G30 Guarantee compensation when a train is delayed 30 minutes or more, and consolidation of Grand Voyageur loyalty cards have also been newly enabled.
In addition, all commercial reduction cards such as Carte Liberte and Carte Avantage are compatible with MyTrainTravel, as are any corporate negotiated fares. It’s also now easier to make multi-centre bookings with SNCF and the portal is multilingual so easily accessible for English speakers with all payments taken in local currency and invoiced monthly if so desired.
Travel agencies with multiple agents booking SNCF can have a company account with sub accounts for individuals, making it easier to keep track of individuals’ bookings.
Plus, should something happen to stop the customer travelling, ticket exchanges and refunds made on the portal are instantaneous.
Looking ahead, SNCF is seeking a solution for both group bookings and payments via Amex and UATP AirPlus on MyTrainTravel. The portal will be consistently innovating and updating to ensure SNCF moves with the market.
Offering all of this new functionality to the trade along with ease of access and the promise of considered future developments, the new SNCF tool is poised to make booking European train travel a breeze.
