Aman will open its fourth resort in 2023 on a nature reserve in Japan.
Aman Niseko will be an all-season retreat on an 187-hectare site on the slopes of Mount Moiwa in Hokkaido’s Niseko region.
It will have 30 rooms, wellness facilities and a number of restaurants.
The mountainous area is known for abundant snowfall and long ski runs in winter, and mild weather ideal for hiking, mountain biking and river rafting in the summer.
The resort and its residences have been designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the firm also responsible for Aman’s other Japanese properties – Aman Tokyo, Amanemu and Aman Kyoto.
Guests can enjoy personalised retreat programmes using the spa’s single and double treatment suites, pre-treatment lounges, relaxation pods, Finnish saunas, Watsu treatment chambers, cold plunge pools, steam rooms, hammam, experience showers and onsen.
On-site restaurants will offer Japanese fine dining, Italian dishes and seasonal cuisine.
The kids’ club will feature a healthy-refreshment area, indoor playground, bowling alley, games zone, theatre, matcha bar, half-basketball court, indoor swimming, wading pools, toddler’s play area and nap room.
Anyone who owns one of the 31 Aman-branded residences will have access to all the wellness and dining facilities of Aman Niseko.
“Aman Niseko is designed in harmony with its expansive and serene surroundings and the resort and residences will embrace Aman’s devotion to detail and impeccable service," said Vladislav Doronin, chairman and chief executive of Aman.
“This all-season resort will be a haven of peacefulness immersed in the purest Japanese scenery with the renowned thoughtfulness of Japanese hospitality.”
