Banyan Tree has launched the first property under its new wellbeing brand Veya, opening a resort in Thailand.
The first Banyan Tree Veya resort has made its debut on the Thai island of Phuket. It is located within the Banyan Tree Phuket property close to Bangtao Beach.
On arrival, a personalised wellbeing itinerary is created for guests following a private consultation with the property’s wellbeing hosts, who are qualified in eastern medicine, naturopathy and coaching.
These itineraries focus on areas such as mindfulness practices and somatic movement, which involves dance, yoga and classes on balance and stability.
Banyan Tree Veya Phuket is also offering signature therapies combining floatation with body-stretch massage techniques and meditational sound therapy, while lifestyle learning workshops will aim to help guests introduce wellbeing rituals into their daily lives.
Lee Woon Hoe, executive director of wellbeing at Banyan Tree, said: “The pandemic has brought unprecedented stress and trauma to our generation, the full impact of which remains to be fully assessed. However, many of us are reassessing our purpose and approach in life.
“The Banyan Tree Veya team of resident wellbeing specialists and external experts aim to guide, encourage and celebrate with our guests in discovering this new conscious way of living.”
The resort’s 23 villas are also designed to allow guests to continue wellbeing practices in their rooms with the provision of yoga mats, sound therapy bowls and exercise stretch bands.
Veya’s cuisine is also focused around a “flexitarian” approach, which blends Asian and Mediterranean influences and “nutrition sommeliers” will help create tailored menus for guests to match dietary needs and preferences.
