Village-style COMO Le Montrachet opens this week beside a famous vineyard in Burgundy.
COMO Hotels & Resorts has reimagined Hotel le Montrachet, a 19th-century inn located in Puligny-Montrachet and now housed across three heritage buildings.
Arranged around a village square, the 30-room hotel is just steps from the world-renowned Le Montrachet vineyard.
COMO has again collaborated with designer Paola Navone, who also worked on COMO Castello del Nero in Tuscany.
Ahead of the hotel’s 15 April launch, Le Montrachet Restaurant has already opened, with a menu which changes with the seasons and showcases produce from local farmers and suppliers.
Besides Montrachet, four Grand Cru vineyards and seventeen Premier Cru vineyards lie close to the hotel, as well as the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Pommard.
The hotel’s own sommelier Andre Berthier is available to take guests on private tastings and trips to local wineries. They can also enjoy group workshops and vineyard visits.
Cooking classes, bicycle tours, scenic hikes and hot air balloon rides are also possible.
Seasonal event highlights include the local Beaune jazz and classical music festival in July and August and the vendange harvest period in mid-August.
“What differentiates COMO as a global lifestyle brand is our ability to develop our brand presence in truly unique locations. This is the case with COMO Le Montrachet,” said Olivier Jolivet, chief executive of COMO Hotels & Resorts.
The hotel is an hour and a half’s drive from Lyon or a 40-minute drive from the private airport of Dijon. From Paris, it’s a three-hour drive or a 90-minute train ride by the high-speed TGV train to Le Creusot.
