Emirates is to up flights to Mauritius from Dubai, providing a boost in capacity as travel to the island rebounds.
The airline currently operates daily flights from the emirate to the island on its Boeing 777-300ER, but will move to operating twice-daily flights on its A380 aircraft from 1 July, providing additional connecting options for the UK market.
Emirates said "in line with rising demand", it would first scale up operations from daily to nine weekly flights between 9 April and the end of June, before moving up to double daily flights from July.
Emirates’ second daily flight will provide an important boost to tourism to the Indian Ocean destination which has now relaxed entry restrictions for travellers.
The additional flight will also provide more choice in flight timings and connectivity to customers from markets across Europe, Americas and the Middle East, the airline said.
The Emirates A380 features 14 First Class suites, 76 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 426 ergonomically designed seats in Economy Class.
Emirates is currently in its 20th year of operations to the Indian Ocean destination, and said it remains "committed to Mauritius".
