Explora Journeys has unveiled its lead in category ocean terrace suites, which are billed as “homes at sea” on the line’s first ship, Explora I.
The 377-square-foot ocean terrace suites and 420-square-foot ocean grand terrace suites all feature private terraces, with daybeds and a dining area.
Inside, they offer a walk-in wardrobe with a seated vanity area, complete with a Dyson Supersonic hairdryer. Guests can expect heated floors in the bathrooms, refillable bathroom amenities, personal binoculars and wireless bed-side charging.
The minibars are replenished according to guests’ preferences, alongside an espresso machine with biodegradable pods, a kettle and teapot, and complimentary personal refillable water bottles.
The suites have been developed in collaboration with cruise and yacht design specialists De Jorio Luxury & Yachts Projects, and London-based architectural and interior design studio NenMar. They are all based on a neutral colour palette and include furnishings from Italian designer furniture firm Molteni&C.
Explora Journeys chief executive Michael Ungerer said the suites were a “long-held vision” of the line’s founders, the Aponte Vago family.
He added: “It is a truly exciting and profound moment for us to be able to welcome future guests to the carefully curated suites, penthouses and residences.
"Marrying the family’s impeccable taste and innate understanding of luxury, inspired by their personal travels and style, the interiors of Explora I have been designed with their enduring dedication and incredible eye for detail.”
Explora I will make its maiden voyage in May 2023, offering 461 suites, penthouses and residences. It is scheduled to sail to the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the UK, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, the US east coast, the Caribbean, South America and Hawaii.
