Four Seasons has announced it has 50 projects in the pipeline, as the company’s new chief executive sets out his vision.
Last October Four Seasons announced former Apple Leisure Group chief Alejandro Reynal as its new president and chief executive. In a statement the hospitality brand said under Reynal it would “continue to drive global growth and strategic development across new and existing lines of business”.
Reynal said Four Seasons had a “clear competitive advantage” thanks to its “unparalleled service excellence, a renowned brand and a corporate culture powered by the genuine heart of its people.” He continued: “Four Seasons business is stronger than ever. Our experienced leadership team is well positioned to take advantage of the myriad opportunities ahead, focusing on an evolved growth strategy that continues to generate value for our hotel owners, employees, guests and residents.”
The business currently has a global portfolio of 126 hotels and resorts and 53 branded residences, with 50 projects under planning or development. These include openings in Italy, Spain, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Colombia and Belize. Other previously announced upcoming projects include properties in Venice, Melbourne and Xi’an. The Middle East is a key growth market for the brand, with upcoming projects in Jeddah, Diriyah, Cairo, Luxor and Muscat.
This year Four Seasons will open two hotels in China in Suzhou and Dalian, while new projects in the Middle East include residences in Bahrain Bay, a second hotel in Doha and a new hotel in Rabat, Morocco. A spokesperson said: “Residential continues to be a significant driver for Four Seasons strategic growth, with a robust five year pipeline comprising more than 30 projects worldwide.”
In 2022 Four Seasons opened seven new properties, including in Fort Lauderdale, Minneapolis and Nashville, alongside a resort in Tamarindo in Mexico and its first tented-resort in North America at Naviva, Punta Mita, A Four Seasons Resort. The company also expanded its collection of standalone private residences with new offerings in Marrakech and Dubai.
The brand also offers the Four Seasons Private Jet Experience and the recently announced Four Seasons Yachts, with the first vessel expected to set sail in 2025.
