Luxury vacation home rental company Le Collectionist has raised €60m of investment, which will be used to increase its headcount and expand the business through acquisitions in key markets.
The brand has raised €60m of growth funding from investors, led by global venture capital firm Highland Europe.
Following the funding round, in 2023 Le Collectionist will create more than 120 positions to develop both its central office in Paris and existing local offices in the south-east and south-west of France, Barcelona, Ibiza and Switzerland. It will also open new local offices in London and New York.
The brand was founded in 2014 and offers 1,800 homes in 30 destinations, including the French Riviera, the Balearic Islands, Portugal, Italy, the Alps, St Barts and Cape Town, offering guests luxury hotel-like concierge services.
Le Collectionist’s recent expansion has included the acquisition of Swiss ski chalet rental specialist Bramble Ski, the rental activity of French Alps real estate firm Vallat Group and Greek property rental company The Greek Villas.
A spokesperson said: “The latest funding will help Le Collectionist build on this momentum and enable the brand to acquire more local champions to consolidate the fragmented market.” They said the funding “will be used to accelerate the expansion of the business through selective acquisitions in areas where demand for Le Collectionist’s curation and quality is high.”
Le Collectionist has been named one of the best holiday companies in the world by Conde Nast Traveller for the past three consecutive years. Since 2020 it has more than tripled the number of properties it offers and seen a fivefold increase in revenue.
Le Collectionist co-founder Max Aniort said: “Holidays are about creating memories and sharing once-in-a-lifetime moments with the people we love. This is what lies at the heart of everything we do at Le Collectionist. We want our guests to be given the best experiences and the attention they deserve to embrace and share precious time with family and friends.”
