Global luxury conglomerate LVMH Hospitality is to launch two hotels in the exclusive resort of Costa Smeralda.
LVMH’s Belmond brand will manage the Hotel Romazzino, which will open for the 2024 season as Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, Costa Smeralda.
Meanwhile, the Hotel Pitrizza will be managed by sister LVMH brand Cheval Blanc. The hotel will continue to operate under its current name until 2026, when it will be rebranded as Cheval Blanc Pitrizza, Costa Smeralda, following the completion of a renovation.
These changes are part of the Smeralda Holding Group’s long-term strategy to “enhance and enrich Costa Smeralda as a best-in-class destination”.
This plan was launched in 2017 and includes other tourism initiatives such as the introduction of F&B operators such as Nikki Beach, Zuma, Novikov, Beefbar and Matsuhisa.
The company said all employees will remain employed by Sardegna Resorts, which also retains ownership of the hotels’ property and businesses.
Both hotels are in the heart of Costa Smeralda and were designed in the 1960s by architects Luigi Vietti and Michele Busiri Vici, who both contributed to the development of Porto Cervo. The two properties will now undergo renovations.
LVMH is widely known in the luxury space, with its brands including the likes of Moet & Chandon, Dom Perignon, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Loro Piana, Tiffany & Co. and Hublot.
