Mandarin Oriental is to expand its presence in Greece following the announcement of a new resort on the Athens riviera.
The Hong Kong-based luxury brand is opening its first Greek property, Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, this summer and will follow this debut up with the Mandarin Oriental Athens in summer 2027.
The Athens resort will be developed as part of The Ellinikon, which is being promoted as one of Europe’s largest sustainably built urban regeneration projects costing a total of around €8 billion.
When completed, the hotel will offer 123 rooms and suites, as well as 17 Mandarin Oriental branded residences.
The hotel group said there would be several food and beverage outlets located within the Athens property, as well as a branded spa.
James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, said: “I am confident, that with this location and our legendary service, Mandarin Oriental, Athens will be the leading luxury hospitality hub for both travellers and Athenian residents.”
