As Africa safari and conservation brand Singita prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary it has announced a new wellness programme and appointed Sarah Falconer to cover sales representation for the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia.
Singita has 15 luxury lodges and camps across four countries and celebrates its third decade this year. This summer the brand will launch its new wellness philosophy, “Wholeness”, focusing on personalised spa experiences. They will feature local products, such as using sand from the river banks in a foot scrub ritual at Singita Sabi Sand.
Other changes include a larger range of plant-based dishes across the lodges and camps, while the Mara River Tented Camp will relaunch this summer with a new design. In partnership with non-profit funds and trusts, Singita is also working on a 100-year project to preserve and protect large parts of African wilderness for future generations.
The sales team has been boosted with the appointment of Falconer, who previously worked for This is Beyond on the Pure and Le Miami brands and for The Doyle Collection in London, where she was director of sales. More recently, through her own representation company, she has concentrated on family-owned hotels with “distinct personalities”.
“Sarah’s vast experience working in luxury industries and The Doyle Collection, as well as her in-depth knowledge of trade shows, make her ideal to join our sales team,” says Caroline Burke, group head of sales and revenue at Singita. “We look forward to a charting a new path in these established markets, and to assist our valued trade partners at such a pivotal time.”
Falconer added: “I’ve admired Singita’s lodges and its 100-year purpose since I worked at Pure, so I’m thrilled and honoured that I’ve been appointed as sales representation in these regions for such an innovative eco-tourism brand.”
She will be assisted by Julia Jossa, who has extensive experience with leading luxury travel agencies in the UK and in hotel representation.
