New York hotel icon The Carlyle has just completed a major three-year renovation of the historic Manhattan property.
The refurbishment of the Rosewood-managed hotel has included the “reimagining” of the rooms and suites by designer Tony Chi, as well as introducing a Presidential Suite, which was formerly a private apartment, taking up the entire 26th floor of the building’s tower.
The Carlyle has also added a new spa by Swiss skincare brand Valmont – the company’s first branded spa in New York.
A new signature restaurant, Dowling’s at The Carlyle, named after the former owner of the hotel, is another major addition. The dining venue is headed up by executive chef Sylvain Delpique.
Anthony McHale, managing director of The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, said: “We are thrilled to finally debut our completed new guest rooms, which are highlighted by the coveted suites in the tower with sweeping views of Central Park.
“Obviously with a beloved property such as The Carlyle, we had to be careful with this restoration and we feel it offers the perfect modern aesthetic to bring the hotel into the future while still respecting the past.”
The new Presidential Suite, which is accessed by a private lift, features 360-degree views of the city through its floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Valmont spa is located on the hotel’s third floor, while La Maison Valmont boutique is due to open on the ground floor in December.
