A new hotel brand, Octant Hotels, has launched in Portugal incorporating eight boutique “design-led” properties across the country.
The existing hotels, which will rebranded using the new Octant name, are: Douro41 Hotel & Spa, Palacio da Lousa Boutique Hotel, Evora Farm Hotel, Santiago Hotel Cooking & Nature, Praia Verde Boutique Hotel, Vila Monte Farm House, Azor Hotel and Furnas Boutique Hotel.
Octant is part of Discovery Hotel Management, which said the new brand would enable the properties to “deliver a unified approach to service and experiences”, as well as highlighting the “very best of Portuguese hospitality”.
Luis Mexia Alves, chief executive of Discovery Hotel Management, said: “The new Octant brand groups our design hotels into a premium segment in terms of look, feel and service. We do everything to meet the needs of the new generation of tourists emerging globally who seek out authentic, laid-back yet luxurious experiences.
“With Octant, we hope to connect our guests to the places where each of the hotels are located through warm hospitality, food and wine and unique experiences in an authentic way.
“We’re thrilled to have finally launched it, especially at such a pivotal time in the recovery of the Portuguese tourism market.”
The brand’s hotels will give guests the ability to use facilities at all hours, as well as offering breakfast throughout the day. A range of experiences specific to each property will also be introduced, while menus will offer local delicacies, specialities and wines.
Discovery Hotel Management operates 18 hotels including the eight properties which now make up Octant Hotels.
