The luxury German brand is set to open its first Saint Tropez property in a secluded part of the glitzy French town.
Oetker Collection has confirmed the launch of its first hotel in St Tropez, marking the 13th addition to its portfolio of luxury properties.
Scheduled for a 2027 debut, the five-star hotel will be located between the iconic town and the beaches of Pampelonne, occupying the former site of Le Mas Bellevue St Tropez.
While its name has yet to be announced, guests can expect a ‘peaceful sanctuary’ of several small, two-storey outposts that create a ‘hamlet’ style experience.
It will feature 53 guest rooms and suites, all of which will have a private terrace or patio. There will also be an oversized infinity pool, a large wellness space, and a restaurant and bar with views of the surrounding landscape.
The interiors, overseen by French designers Patrick Gilles and Dorethee Boissier, will focus on natural materials; think aged tiles, local stones, climbing vegetation and wooden pergolas.
Meanwhile, the architecture has been inspired by both Roman and Provencal design, with grand arches and wooden beams creating a fusion between ‘elegance and rustic simplicity.’
Boissier compared the hotel design to that of an open sailboat, writing: “A simple gesture brings the water close enough to feel the sea spray softly caress your face. Everything here is immediate, near, as if immersed in the essence of simplicity. Unlike a yacht, where layers separate you from the sea, here, everything is within reach.”
She also shared unique details about the rooms, including moulded wood panels, straw headboards, and rope accents. The colour palate will reflect that of St Tropez, with soothing pastels, warm ochres and subtle pinks nuzzling the red tiled roofs.
Outdoors, the grounds will feature lush vegetation of native plants, olive trees, and artfully landscaped gardens.
Timo Gruenert, chief executive officer of Oetker Collection, adds: “We are simply delighted to have such a trinity of new projects, from recently launching Hotel La Palma in Capri, to our forthcoming first US hotel with The Vineta Hotel in Palm Beach, and now St Tropez - all are bywords for glamour and destinations beloved by many of our dear guests.
The St Tropez hotel contains all the ingredients of a true masterpiece, and we look forward to creating an unparalleled haven that embraces both the laid-back authenticity and sophistication of the region.”
